An artist friend of mine gave me a few hints as to how to improve on this illustration, and this is how it turned out in the end. I think it looks a lot better than the one I uploaded a few days ago.

Progress of my second Prince Valiant Illustration. I've chosen to portray the prince with a "romanesque" look, since Foster put him anywhere the 4th and 8th century AC, I wanted to imply that he is from the period immediately after the Romans left England.

I've started to do preliminary work on my John Carter Illustrations, beginning with a very basic compositional idea ( directly above) then concentrating on character design for one of the characters ( Tardoss Morss).
