A couple of quick thumb sketches I did searching for ideas for a composition.
I'm really considering doing one of my lllustrations as a promotional poster for an imagined animation production. Here I'm doing some head sketches trying to come up with the right eyes.
In here I have a simplified ( for animation) design for Prince Valiant. I was inspired by the Warner Bros. Bruce Timm character designs.

A couple more "animated" poses as well as a pair of thumbs for a possible composition.

Original thumbnail sketch for Horrit's place.

Photoshop color study for "Horrit's Place" a Prince Valiant Illustration.

My cartoon version of Prince Valiant. I'm considering making one of his illustrations in a cartoon style, a'la "Timmverse".

Final composition for the Prince Valiant Illustration already transfered to the illustration board.

Thumbnail sketch and ink and pen drawing, trying to find a good composition.

Photo composition for the second Prince Valiant Illustration.

New thumbnail with head studies for Prince Valiant. I'm considering making him older (the character himself has been in the Sunday strips for nearly 75 years).

This is the original picture I took for reference. Since my dining room looks more or less like it is in a medieval castle, I'll illustrate it in such a way in order to add interest to the scene.

Spent about five days messing with this illustration in oils, but since I tried to simplify it, all I did is ruin the painting to the point that I need to do a new one, this time with more detail on it.
